Apple Roses (Vegan)

Apple Roses are so easy simple and quick to make, I made these with my little girl who probably ate more apples through the process than I actually used, probably why I ended up having to slice another apple! They are totally delicious, not too sweet, light crisp pastry and far too moorish – I downed 2 in row!

As part of the Tescos Orchard programme, I was lucky enough to try these apples for free #Triedforfree ! The bag was labelled as perfectly imperfect apples, and that they were, slights odd-shaped but absolutely perfect for these roses.

When you make puff pasty at home you use butter, however the shop bought puff pastry is generally vegan friendly, well Jus rol is totally vegan friendly, which means they don’t use butter ( so I guess you could say it’s not proper puff pastry) Would Paul Hollywood recommend it?! Now that’s an interesting question – I wonder if he will reply?!

Now are my daughter did eat probably over 1 1/2 apple slices, I ended up being short on 2 roses, so I quick sliced up a banana, and let me tell you that works really well too, probably doesn’t look as pretty but boy they tasted amazing. So I think you could use probably mango, pears and even apricots, let me know if you try the other fruits, and maybe even tweet or instagram me pictures (@tejal_x)

The kitchen is a great way to spend some time with the kids, I’m very lucky and both my little babies ( ok maybe not babies anymore!) love spending time with me in the kitchen creating something or another. They now do tend to fight over who is making dinner or baking treats, I tend not to get a much of look in anymore! Although I guess I’m getting them ready for getting good grades in Food Tech!
