The hubster does like a good fruit loaf, but when his favourite combo is involved like cherries and dark chocolate, if doesn’t last long before he has gobbled it all up! A slice for mid morning snack with some butter, then maybe a quick slice or 2 after lunch, another mid afternoon snack…..get the idea?! I usually hope it will last a week, but with the hubster around lucky if a lasts till Thursday!
When thinking about adding the crumble top, I wasn’t sure if it would take away from the loaf or make it better. I think it’s a great addition as it adds that little extra soft crunch to the loaf.
The loaf isn’t too sweet, actually some would say not sweet enough as comparing to a cake, but a lightly sweet loaf is just the right amount of sweetness. It’s pretty good with a little butter or margarine, makes the loaf just melt in the mouth.
