A piñata pronounced pin yah ta is a container often made of something you can break into which is decorated, and filled with small toys or candy, or both, and then broken as part of a ceremony or celebration in the latin and mexican culture.Pinata Cup Cake

With this in mind, I decided that I would make an edible container i.e cake and fill with smarties!

As a Pinata is usually bright multi coloured, I would continue and follow the theme through, with multicoloured butter cream frosting and a little touch of glitter too.

You could use other sweets or chocolates to fill the inside, maybe all-sorts, haribos, M&Ms, nerds or even skittles to add and change the goodies inside.

I seen the big cake versions of the these ingenious idea, but not seen little baby versions like these cup cakes.

They are easy but can create a bit of wastage due to the colouring the icing and constant cleaning of piping bags, I think I need to buy some disposal piping bags.
