How about some mexican Jalapeno cheese inspired scones? Well, why not!
Scones are lovely, as you can adapt into any flavour – savoury or sweet!
225g Self Raising Flour
2 Tbsp Milk
50g Cheddar Cheese
1 Tbsp Chopped Jalapeno
Milk for glazing
In a food processor add cold butter and flour
Blitz in until bread crumb like texture and add to a bowl and make a small well in the middle.
Beat an egg with milk and then pour into the butter flour mixture, then briefly mix until the start of a dough forms.
Add cheese and jalapeno into the dough, start to mix into the dough.
Tip the dough on to a floured surface and continue to knead until a dough forms, do not over knead.
Roll out and then using a cutter, cut out scones
Place the scone dough onto a greased baking tray
Brush the scone dough with a little milk
Bake in the oven at 220c for 15 minutes until golden brown.
