As a part of the Tesco Orchard, I was sent to try Tesco Finest* Authentic Italian pasta. With a great choice, I decided to go for the Fusilli Lunghi Col Buco mainly because my daughter liked the curly spiral shape. Fusilli Lunghi col buco – translates to fusilli with a hole. The hole helps the product to cook evenly. It’s delicious served with King prawns and cherry tomatoes, however being a vegetarian I decided to pair it with oven roasted vegetables and tomato base sauce.
The Tesco Finest* Authentic Italian pasta is made from water and semolina from pure italian drum wheat. The pasta cooked well, when cooked for 10 mins is was perfect at the al dente Italian way. If you like your pasta soft, I would recommend to cook for a few extra minutes. The Fusilli Lunghi had great texture and the sauce covered it well. My best way of describing the pasta was a thicker more noodle feel type of pasta, which was amazingly good and the thick texture just complemented the whole meal. My whole family enjoyed it, specially my husband. As this is a long pasta, the kids were getting a little messy – so best to have baby wipes to hand.
I would definitely give this a 9/10, if they made a whole-wheat variety I would probably give it the full 10/10.

Get a taste for real Italian pasta with the Tesco finest* dried pasta range, made by the Di Martino family in Italy. They have been producing pasta in their factory in Gragnano for 100 years, and are experts at knowing how to make the best possible authentic Italian product.
- The Di Martino family shape their pasta using traditional bronze ‘dies’ rather than modern Teflon ones, giving the pasta a coarser finish — which means sauce clings to it perfectly when cooked
- Many pasta producers dry their pasta in 3 hours — but the Di Martino family slow-dry theirs for up to 30 hours, to bring out the subtle flavour of the wheat
