Minion Cake

As there a few birthdays in the office and 1 of them loves Minions I thought I’d try to make a minion cake.
I made a 10 egg chocolate cake, with 1/3 in a small batter bowl, 1/3 in my smallest cake tin 7″ round and then re-baked in the 7″ for 3rd cake.

Chocolate Cake Recipe ( my standard)
Per every egg add 2oz butter, 2oz caster sugar, 20z self rising flour, 0.5oz cocoa powder and 1/4 tsp baking powder.
Frosting: 50g butter, 300g icing sugar, 2 tsbp milk & 50g cocoa powder for each 2egg cake recipe

After the cakes had cooked and cooled, I levelled all the cakes and used the batter bowl cake as the circular dimension and cut the rounds according.

I slice each cake in half and buttercream each layer. Then cover the outside of the cake with remaining buttercream.

Once all done I started colouring the icing yellow to cover for the base of the minion, then coloured blue for the clothes and black for hands and accents.

Finishing all the small touches, viola! A minion Cake!
