Apple and Pear Pies

Its that time of year, the lovely smell of homemade pear and apple fall pie ( I dont like pies, but my family loved them!)


Filling –

Fresh Apple

Fresh Ripe Pear

3 tbsp of sugar


115g Butter cold and diced

200g flour

1 tsp water



For the filling peel and chop the pears and apple with the sugar and place into a pan and cook until a deep brown.

For the pastry add to a food processor flour, butter and egg. Keep at a low spread until it almost forms a ball, if it struggles add some water. Wrap in cling film and place in the fridge for at least 30mins.

Roll out the pastry and using a cutter cut out pie cases and tops. Place the cases into a muffin tray, fill with the fruit filling and then place tops on the pies. Use a little butter or egg wash on top and sprinkle on some granulated sugar.
Bake in the oven for 25mins at 180c, allow to cool slightly, and remove from muffin tray.


Enjoy on it own or with some hot custard!
